With its delicious fruit, juice, and molasses the pomegranate is the jewel of any Aegean and Mediterranean kitchen.
Many holy scripts refer to the pomegranate as the symbol of prosperity and fertility.
The mythology of ancient Greece regarded this fruit as the symbol of life and rebirth.
The pomegranate symbolized the soul’s immortality and the perfection of nature.
The pomegranate plant is evergreen throughout the year, a natural attribute to it the immortality of the soul. And the many seeds in a single fruit stand for prosperity.
For Muslims, the pomegranate is a symbol of beauty, it gives beauty to those who eat it.
Along with olive, dates, and fig trees, the pomegranate tree is one of the four holy trees for Islam.
The Jewish mysticism, Kabbala reveres the pomegranate in many of its rituals; a pomegranate is cracked at home and in workplaces on religious days to call for fertility and lucrative businesses.
